On Wednesday, 08.06.2022, more than 40 pupils from the Pascal Grammar School in Grevenbroich visited one of SmartQuart's neighbourhoods as part of a project week: the resource protection settlement in Bedburg-Kaster.

Before the visit to the resource protection settlement, there were various presentations for the children and young people as well as for the three teachers in the council hall of the central town hall of Bedburg. At the beginning, Lisa von Wittenhorst from the Teaching and Research Institute for Real Estate Project Development (iPE) reported on the basics and consequences of climate change using the CO2 footprint. The main focus was to show the young generation how everyone can make a small contribution in their everyday life to reduce their own carbon footprint. Afterwards, the municipal resource protection manager Leonie Pier presented the SmartQuart project. Afterwards, the children were able to get a first-hand impression of the resource protection settlement under construction and take away inspiration for their own project: "Grevenbroich in 2030 - How do we want to live in the future".

LuFG for Real Estate Project Development is pleased to contribute to future climate protection and to pass on knowledge to all generations.
