On 11 August 2021, the master's students of the teaching and research area for real estate project development (iPE) presented the designs for the new visitor:inside centre of the city of Kaisersesch from the summer semester 2021 at RWTH Aachen University. As part of the SmartQuart real laboratory, a house of the energy transition with a pilot character is imaginable. The building should serve as an information centre and venue for workshops and seminars on the energy transition and provide a good framework for exchange and citizen participation in the SmartQuart research project. Through changing exhibitions and event formats, interested parties can inform themselves directly on site about new technologies and the hydrogen quarter. The wish of the Kaisersesch community is to establish an innovative building with supraregional appeal.
The designs include exhibition, seminar and catering rooms on an area of around 500 square metres gross floor space and are characterised by innovative energy concepts for the heating and cooling supply and new approaches to sustainable and resource-saving construction.
The designs were presented at the event to representatives of the Kaisersesch municipality and the SmartQuart real laboratory, among others. In addition to the construction task, the students' plans also include integrated exhibition concepts to demonstrate new technologies for different user groups and to increase acceptance.
