M1 | Visitor Centre in KaiserseschCopyright: © VG Kaisersesch/iPE
The Kaisersesch municipality in Rhineland-Palatinate is planning to build a new visitor center in the near future as an information center and venue for various events related to the SmartQuart research project, in which iPE is involved. Exciting spaces for exhibitions, lectures and hospitality are to be created on almost 400 sqm GFA. The wish of the community is the creation of a symbolic building with supra-regional appeal. As part of a smart energy quarter, the sustainable and resource-saving construction method as well as a climate-neutral heating and cooling supply are of great importance for the building.
As part of the project work M1 in summer semester 21, the students develop a sustainable design for the temporary visitor center of the Kaisersesch municipality based on a real construction task. At the beginning, interesting project examples for the planning task are analyzed and presented as part of the seminar supplement.
