FF | Change of Perspective

Field of research - change of perspective © iPE

In particular, many different actors are involved in the planning and construction of neighbourhoods and buildings, from the user to the architect to the building contractor. At the same time, the building sector is currently undergoing a transformation, because the climate goals of the German government are ambitious. By 2045, the building stock in Germany is to be almost climate-neutral. In addition to innovative technologies and an efficient energy supply, those involved in the construction and planning process are an important component in achieving this goal.

Within the framework of this research field, the students deal with the actors involved in the building and planning process and determine their goals, needs and dependencies, taking into account their personal circumstances. Through a change of perspective, possible problems and conflicts of interest in the implementation are to be uncovered and comprehended. The collected results are summarised and evaluated in a written homework. The application of the rules of good scientific practice and the work with different types of information and sources (literature, surveys, etc.) are central. Finally, the findings on the individual actors are presented in the group and then discussed.
