WF | Social impulses from building practice
The building industry is subject to constant change. Current issues such as housing shortages, land use conflicts and the energy crisis bring new challenges that shape our buildings and the daily work of the actors involved. Architects and project developers, but also politics and research are challenged to develop new approaches to these challenges.
Within the framework of the elective, students get to know various actors in the construction and real estate industry and their innovative concepts and strategies for the current challenges in housing construction. At the same time, they have the opportunity to engage in direct exchange with a wide variety of actors. For this purpose, the participants are invited to the expert lectures of the iMPULSE event series in the summer semester.
In a written assignment, the findings on the approaches, strategies and concepts as well as their positive effects on current challenges in housing construction will be summarised. Finally, the students are to reflect on how they assess the future potential of the presented impulses for the construction and real estate industry and, within the framework of a research question that they develop based on the lectures, delve into the topic of social housing.
