Research field "The hospital of the future

The course provides insights into diverse research areas of real estate project development and real estate management. Students are given the opportunity to work scientifically on compact topics related to real estate management. The application of the rules of good scientific practice and the work with different types of information and sources are central.

Hospital buildings have constantly changed and developed over decades. Current issues such as the Corona pandemic, structural change and digitalisation are also presenting hospitals with new challenges. A look into the past will show which visions of the future architects, planners, medical professionals, etc. have developed and what the hospital in Germany actually looks like today. At present, we can only guess what the hospital of the future will look like.

Within the framework of the research field "The Hospital of the Future", the students first conduct extensive research on visions of the future of the hospital. The focus can be on the medical care structure, hospital architecture, digitalisation, sustainability, etc. Finally, a vision of the hospital of the future is to be presented.
