Accessibility is defined in § 4 BGG: "Barrier-free are structural and other facilities, means of transport, technical utensils, information processing systems, acoustic and visual information sources and communication facilities as well as other designed areas of life, if they can be found, accessed and used by people with disabilities in the generally customary manner, without particular difficulty and basically without outside help. Here the use of aids necessary due to disability is permitted".
A barrier-free environment without obstacles is necessary for many people with and without disabilities and promotes safe and independent orientation. As part of the course "Immobilienwirtschaftliche Grundlagen" (IWG) in winter semester 2019, students (B.Sc.) will first receive an introduction to the topic of accessibility. Then the students check the accessibility on the basis of one of their already completed drafts and carry out structural alterations. The measures are completed with a cost estimate. The event takes place in cooperation with ennac GmbH.
