Building and planning economics

The course "Construction and Planning Economics" teaches the fundamentals of real estate economics in building construction.

The course shows methods and instruments for the economic planning and optimisation of buildings in the context of project development, planning, realisation and use. The course strengthens and develops the competence to process and evaluate design projects with regard to real estate economic issues. In particular, the focus is on demand-oriented and resource-saving construction methods and an awareness of the relationship between costs and benefits over the entire life cycle of a property.

The lectures and exercises of the course cover the following main topics:

  • Introduction to project development
  • Quantity surveying
  • Construction costs in building construction
  • Use costs in building construction
  • Real estate valuation
  • Tax law for the construction and real estate industry
  • Economic efficiency in the real estate industry
  • Sustainability
  • HOAI

The event will be supported and enriched by expert guest lecturers from the construction and real estate industry.
