Together with the Chair of Building and Indoor Climate Technology and the Chair of Energy Efficient Construction at RWTH Aachen University and the industrial partners Hagemeister, Vonovia and Viessmann, iPE is working on the development and testing of resource-saving façade technologies for the construction industry in the project "Resource-saving façade technologies: energy clinker" (ReFaTEk).

The novel clinker technology serves to increase the use of solar energy for the energy supply of buildings and is being implemented, researched and evaluated both in the laboratory and in real building projects in practice. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection with around 1 million euros until 2025.

The novel facade technology is intended to contribute to achieving the climate targets of the German government and becoming independent of fossil energy. If you are interested or have any questions about the research project, please contact kontakt@ipe.arch.rwth-aachen.de.
